Historic Drops – Boorloo Heritage Festival

April 1 to April 30 2024

Sessions:

Monday – Friday: 12pm – late

Saturday: 3pm – late

Sunday: Closed

During Heritage month, Wine Merchant will be pouring two historic drops from some of WA’s founding wineries – Vasse Felix and Nikola Estate.

Vasse Felix ‘Premier’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (50th anniversary vintage) Margaret River $25/glass.

2021 marks the 50th vintage of this wine from one of the State’s finest producers. Supple, elegant red fruits are supported by finely integrated tannins and a delicate saline freshness. A refined wine of great pedigree and class, and an honest reminder of why the very best Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Margaret River.

‘Made at Vasse Felix every year since 1972, each vintage of this historic Cabernet, Margaret River’s original, embodies a faithful pursuit of excellence, purity and wine artistry.’ – Emma Farrelly

Nikola Estate Chenin Blanc 2022 Swan Valley $18/glass.

A beautiful expression of Chenin from the second oldest winery in Australia. Aromatic and bright with nashi pear, waxy lemon and subtle white florals. Time spent in oak adds a layer of complexity and offers a delicate creamy finish.

‘This is a winery that is forged on tradition, embodying the knowledge and foresight that has been faithfully passed down through four generations of the Yukich family, caretakers of these historic vines.’ – Emma Farrelly
