Discover Tree Man by ENESS, a large-scale interactive installation landing in Cathedral Square this October.
In an increasingly digital world, reconnect with the environment through the arms of Tree Man.
Tree Man by ENESS, is created in response to the digital-driven culture of contemporary times, a notion encapsulated visually through the sculpture’s screen-shaped head. Tree Man highlights the importance of humans connecting with and nurturing the environment.
This is expressed through the Tree Man character encircling a sapling in his arms: providing sanctuary for the young tree and at the same time providing an inner sanctuary for visitors.
As visitors enter Tree Man’s arms, the over 4 metre high inflatable installation is activated, creating soft light pulsation and diffused colour, like sunlight through foliage on a sunny day.
Tree Man comes to life daily 4 – 22 October, 5pm – 9pm.
Making his way to Cathedral Square from the i Light Singapore festival, Tree Man by ENESS, makes his first visit to Perth for a limited time only.
HOW TO EXPERIENCE TREE MAN
The Cathedral Square Lawn will light up from 5pm to 9pm from Wednesday 4 – Sunday 22 October.
Please do not climb on the artwork.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
ENESS is an art and technology studio based in Melbourne. Led by Artist and Founder Nimrod Weis, the team delves into the deeper potential of interactivity to form emotive responses from audiences and how to make art appeal to people of all ages and backgrounds. The studio’s style of work seduces viewers to get closer and experience unexpected curiosities, taking digital art installations out of the gallery and into the realm of public space.
ENESS believes in the power of providing art in everyday life that fires the imagination; that provides joy, happiness and beauty in unexpected places – transformational experiences that change lives. In this way the team are ‘happiness architects’, inspiring deeper moments between friends, family and community.
