This is a rare chance to hear one of the world’s leading concert organists here in Perth. Dr Joseph Nolan has won high praise from New York to Sydney for his performances and recordings. In particular, his Widor collection is considered a benchmark in the music world.
For his recital under the soaring arches of St George’s Cathedral, Dr Nolan has chosen Widor’s famous fifth symphony as the highlight. Other works on the program include Bach, Reubke, and the Australian premiere of Charles Valentin Alkan’s terrifyingly difficult Impromptu on Luther’s Choral ‘A Mighty Fortress’.
St George’s Cathedral now has climate control, creating a more comfortable environment for guests.
